My dear ladies, you really need to get into online marketing. Yes, I am serious. I will explain.

First of all, offline marketers know for a fact that 60% of the buying power is in the hands of women. Also, women have a huge variety of products in any sector, be it clothes, cosmetics, accessories, gadgets and everything else, compared to men’s products.

The second fact is that, if you want to create good marketing material, you have to get into the mind of the buyer. Since many products are targeted towards women, you are already into that. (Also, in theory we get into women’s minds, but in practice we fail to do that. If that were the case, marketers would get all the chick action. No, we don’t)

I know that for the non geeky females, working on computers seems daunting. First of all, fuck the stereotypes, I know women who can code far better than I can. Hell, I just got ass-kicked in web writing from a mom. It is all a matter of putting yourself down to learn. But, in today’s internet, with the variety of CMS’es and tools and plugins and all that, the real technical knowledge required is not that hard.

Maybe at first you will need someone to show stuff to you, or even to pay them to do them for you. I am talking about things like installing scripts, setting up hosting etc. Get a computer student, pay him some cash and get him to setup the things you want, and to show them to you. Write them down, and learn how to do them yourself afterwards. It is much simpler than you think.

What can you do? Anything really. Ok, you will not code the next Reddit or Twitter, but you can make female oriented blogs and e-shops, review sites and female-interest sites. The marketplace is simply huge, and you can go in niches that are unheard of for a male marketer. Want an example? We marketed pink iphones. PINK IPHONES! How dumb is that? Male marketers instantly assume that all it takes to appeal to women is to make someting pink! Of course it is not. Yes, women like colorful and pretty stuff, but I know lots of women who hate pink things. But they love things like the La Yin store. Just look at those. The store, the products, the presentation are all classy, beautiful, and make the female visitor want to buy them.

There are so many profitable niches that have their female counterpart untapped. Just find them, learn the game, and go for it. If needed, hire professional web designers and programmers to make what you want, but know that you can always find a CMS and a plugin to do the job just fine. Join a forum, ask questions, don’t be afraid to be a noob. We were all noobs once.

Female marketers can kick our asses in marketing. Another example is female models in ads. Women do like seeing pretty female models, but how much is too much? How pretty is too pretty? How much skin exposed? Is her hair ok? The makeup? Does the product show well enough, because for males, yeah, they click simply because there is a fine ass up there. But does it grab the attention of women? I do not have the exact answers to these questions, but honestly, I have enough experience to guess well enough, better than a random woman. But, if a woman were to reach my marketing skill level, I would not stand a chance.

Be that woman. Kick my ass. I dare you.

AdBrite has launched a massive cost-per-click (CPC) auction for graphical banner ads. AdBrite advertisers can now pay for graphical banner advertising in the same way they pay for search placements and text ads– paying only when their ad is clicked.

CPC auction pricing is a significant departure from traditional CPM (cost per impression) rates paid by most advertisers for graphical banner ads.

When direct-response advertisers pay per impression, they assume the full risk of impressions that may never convert into clicks or sales. In AdBrite’s CPC banner auction, display advertisers pay only for clicks. This lowers advertiser risk while increasing performance.

In addition to advertiser benefits, CPC pricing rewards AdBrite’s high-quality publishers by compensating them for the full benefit of their contributions to each advertiser. Many AdBrite publishers will see a significant increase in revenue.

More affiliate industry news. I should get out more. In summary, advertisers could only bid cpm for image banners in the past, now they can bid ppc.

Why should I care, you might ask?

This move is very interesting in many ways. First of all, this will reduce publishers revenues. Why? Because all the smart affiliates used adbrite as an easy way to get cpm ads. I know I did. I used adbrite graphic only banners on my funny pics and video sites, because they were so crappy, the cpm networks did not approve them. And many other affiliates did. Now, from experience, those banners actually do get clicks, so that might counteract the lost revenues. The clicks are mainly due to Adbrite’s slack in incentives, deceiving graphics and all those “CLICK HERE” and “YOU WON”.

On the other hand, Adbrite has a general reputation for being crappy converter for advertisers. This move will draw more advertisers to the marketplace, thus increasing the available ads and general bid prices through competition. So, that way publishers might see higher bids and more ad spots getting filled up.

Apart from hearsay, Adbrite does infact have a huge partner network. I know for a fact that this was a great place to get cheap clicks for Crush and IQ crap offers. Maybe now Adbrite will turn into the next option after MSN and Yahoo.

If you are in any business for enough time, you know that there is a load of cash to be made on new stuff, when you dive in early. Take a dive.

The WebWriMo challenge is near its end, only 5 days left. We all slacked. I know. Also, I was the leader up until a week ago, when a real mom joined the fray. Rebecca, is a fucking writing machine, a mom that “gets it”, has peachy cheeks, a hyperactive son and a great smile. She is also your professional internet author, ready to boldly go where no mom has gone before.

And because I like her style, here is her signature:

Quit Buying Shitty Content.

Rebecca Garland – Freelance Writer and Copywriter

She joined the WebWriMo challenge, took the lead, embarassed us all, kicked my ass and wrote 51000 words in a month, while taking care of her son as well. And she does that all the time. Damn!

So, practically the challenge is over, we all learned a few things about content creation, a few mustaches got bigger, I pumped out a lot of content for 4 sites including this blog, and we all go back to our normal slow content generating lives, except Rebecca. The challenge was ironically for epeen purposes, and to get a motive to generate the much needed content for our online assets. There was no real prize, but this post is both a tiny prize and a show of respect for people who manage to juggle work, raising kids and real life problems while maintaining a smile.

Are you serious about your online success? Do you really want to makemoniesonline? Then

Quit Buying Shitty Content.

Internet is serious business

Since redditors call me a spammer, I might as well become one.

I discovered a stupidly easy way to bypass Akismet. If for example, I had glowleaf.net blacklisted (which it is), every comment I post to other blogs will get deleted.

I just buy glowleaf.info, redirect it to my blog, and use it in the url box.

I just tested it, it bypasses akismet. Of course, if you are still posting spam nothing prevents the blogger from hiting the report spam link and nullifying your 2nd domain. But it works as a second chance. Or a third, a fourth, a fifth…

Now go spread some havoc and chaos.

Clickbooth, one of the biggest CPA networks, has launched a new “edu” part of their site, called Clickbooth Webinars.

This move is quite interesting, because search marketing is not an easy thing to master. Every bit helps, and the webinars offered up there are completely free. They even have a ball of string, and “NO STRINGS ATTACHED” :)

Clickbooth offers a new webinar every two weeks, about one hour long, in which top internet marketers are interviewed on their ideas and techniques for search marketing. The information provided is not “insider” or anything like that of course, but the mere fact that experts discuss real working examples of landing pages and search campaigns has a lot to offer. Simply listening to how these guys approach different problems and situations can educate you beyond anything else. And, if you are like me, seeing how an expert works and thinks is priceless.

There are currently 3 video clips available, all of them quite interesting. I personally enjoyed the third one, which is Traffic Geyser’s method of generating traffic from videos. Very forward thinking, very interesting, and coming from someone who generates so much traffic, the vid is golden.

Clickbooth claims that their top marketers reveal their “secrets”, which is of course an overstatement. The videos are indeed informational, and I am anticipating to see the upcoming ones.

Definately worth a look, definately useful, newbies will find a lot of info in there, and more experienced marketers will see a new trick or two. It’s free, so check it out. Stop watching silly youtubes and educate yourself a bit.
