What are the techniques so far used by internet marketeers?

  • PPC to PPC
  • PPC to affiliate
  • organic to ppc
  • organic to affiliate
  • parked domain to ppc

I am going to introduce to you a new concept, the one I am using, and I know for sure it works.

The thinking behind it, is the 80 / 20 rule. You need to do 20% of the effort, to reap 80% of the results.

The problem with many online marketers is that they do the exact opposite.

They buy a domain on a stupid niche, spend time and money developing it, and then hoping it will work and make them money.

What they do, is spend 80% of their time, to get 20% reward. And they are happy with their 2$ a month adsense niche site.

The right thing to do, is to focus your time and effort on one, or two large projects. Your big ones. The money making ones. No more than 2.

Then, when you are bored of submitting your main site in 200 directories, you can take your mind off it, by researching a niche, and finding a good domain for it. When you do find a good domain, and you couple it with a nice affiliate offer, buy the domain, redirect it to your affiliate url, and forget about it.

HINT: look for keyword rich domains, not brandable. You will not bother developing them, you need them to fish for traffic. Go for buy-pink-iphone.com instead of crazyforiphone.com

Dont bother writing content, squeeze pages, landing pages, all that crap. What’s wrong with the advertiser’s landing page?

Do you really need to make a landing page, and when the visitors read it, send them to another landing page?

Yes, I know that you can increase conversions with squeeze pages and “presells”. It works. There is no doubt about it. The question is: “is it worth it?”. Or better yet: “is it worth your time?“.

I say that it doesnt. As soon as you get some experience doing this technique I described above, you will be able to find a new offer in 20-30 minutes of research. Think about it.

30 minutes research. 9$ cost for the domain. And that is it. The offer only needs to make 2-3 sales to give you 300% ROI.

Now that’s a good way to use your time. Instead of optimizing stupid niches, simply find more.

How exactly can you make this work?

Go to commission junction. They have a shitload of offers there, there is no way of not finding a relative one. You can go both ways. Deciding on a niche, and then finding the domain and offer. Or the other way round, finding an offer, and then researching for the domain. Whatever you like. I do both.

Pick an offer you like. At first, go for the small pay-per-lead ones. 2-3$ payout. If you do that, you will see results much faster, and you will not give up on the concept. After you get the hang of it, go for the 300$ sales.

Do your keyword research. All you really need is the Adwords keyword tool.

Make a list of 10 keywords and keyphrases that you believe will convert. Check them at your domain registrar if they are available. Take them. Point the domains to the offer. And you are done!

When you do this, dont check your stats every hour. You will not see results immediately. This is a Fire and Forget method. Focus on your main site.

To make the whole process smoother, I suggest you create a splog, with general target keywords. Check Lycos top 50 words, and set wpomatic to scrape for those. Then add your new domains to the splog’s blogroll, as you acquire them. This will help them get indexed and get some link juice. Dont sweat it more than that though…
