My dear ladies, you really need to get into online marketing. Yes, I am serious. I will explain.

First of all, offline marketers know for a fact that 60% of the buying power is in the hands of women. Also, women have a huge variety of products in any sector, be it clothes, cosmetics, accessories, gadgets and everything else, compared to men’s products.

The second fact is that, if you want to create good marketing material, you have to get into the mind of the buyer. Since many products are targeted towards women, you are already into that. (Also, in theory we get into women’s minds, but in practice we fail to do that. If that were the case, marketers would get all the chick action. No, we don’t)

I know that for the non geeky females, working on computers seems daunting. First of all, fuck the stereotypes, I know women who can code far better than I can. Hell, I just got ass-kicked in web writing from a mom. It is all a matter of putting yourself down to learn. But, in today’s internet, with the variety of CMS’es and tools and plugins and all that, the real technical knowledge required is not that hard.

Maybe at first you will need someone to show stuff to you, or even to pay them to do them for you. I am talking about things like installing scripts, setting up hosting etc. Get a computer student, pay him some cash and get him to setup the things you want, and to show them to you. Write them down, and learn how to do them yourself afterwards. It is much simpler than you think.

What can you do? Anything really. Ok, you will not code the next Reddit or Twitter, but you can make female oriented blogs and e-shops, review sites and female-interest sites. The marketplace is simply huge, and you can go in niches that are unheard of for a male marketer. Want an example? We marketed pink iphones. PINK IPHONES! How dumb is that? Male marketers instantly assume that all it takes to appeal to women is to make someting pink! Of course it is not. Yes, women like colorful and pretty stuff, but I know lots of women who hate pink things. But they love things like the La Yin store. Just look at those. The store, the products, the presentation are all classy, beautiful, and make the female visitor want to buy them.

There are so many profitable niches that have their female counterpart untapped. Just find them, learn the game, and go for it. If needed, hire professional web designers and programmers to make what you want, but know that you can always find a CMS and a plugin to do the job just fine. Join a forum, ask questions, don’t be afraid to be a noob. We were all noobs once.

Female marketers can kick our asses in marketing. Another example is female models in ads. Women do like seeing pretty female models, but how much is too much? How pretty is too pretty? How much skin exposed? Is her hair ok? The makeup? Does the product show well enough, because for males, yeah, they click simply because there is a fine ass up there. But does it grab the attention of women? I do not have the exact answers to these questions, but honestly, I have enough experience to guess well enough, better than a random woman. But, if a woman were to reach my marketing skill level, I would not stand a chance.

Be that woman. Kick my ass. I dare you.
