This technique is neither new, or something original. Cake Farts posted it way back.
The idea, is you fake your referrer, using a firefox plugin, set it to change your referrer to your target website, and browse the internet.
This works particularly well with stumble upon, but I dont want my readers fingers to hurt from all that clicking. You can do it while you sleep, using this little program. Its a macro program for gaming, and I think its based on auto it, as Cakes suggests, but this one is much easier than programming auto it even for the simplest of tasks.
No, I will not give you instructions how to use it, RTFM.
How do we use it? From the options tab in your stumble toolbar, set a hotkey for stumbling and thumbs up.
Then simply “record” the pressing of the hotkey, and set it to an endless loop.
Some tips are, dont auto stumble cause stumble will ban you for a day. Also, the websites stumble has to show will eventually run out, just go to your tags and switch some.
Also, from the firefox options tab, disable images and javascript, it will help not crash firefox. That’s it, leave it surfing all night.
Webmasters will see the referral in their logs, and check out your site. Also, some referral logs get indexed, so this gives you some weak backlinks.
The traffic gain is noticeable, but keep in mind, only webmasters will see your site, so try to offer them something they like.Â
Some might get pissed off.
Actually, chances are you found this post from your referral logs, which simply proves that this is a quick and dirty technique that works. Whine all you want, the comment box is right below.
