This very template I am using for this blog, had a little trick. There were pharma links at the bottom.
Some smart guy (he really is a smart guy) wrote this template, or simply modified one, put up his pharma links at the bottom and submitted it to wordpress directories, for people to download and use.
Do not be fooled by this practise. Though sometimes its harmless to leave the designer’s links (I sometimes leave them if their work truly appeals to me), linking to pharm sites, can bring down your ranking.
This particular template did not allow me to charge the footer, so I simply renamed the file.
Another scenario I found on a template called “redbreeze” is that if you alter the footer, it pops up a frame telling you that the footer has been changed, and that you should reload the original file from the coder’s site. Just go to the footer file from dreamweaver, and php comment tag the weird code at the bottom.
